We did ALL THE STUFF!

People Present: Patrick, Ali, Laura, Karissa, Elizabeth, Jordan, and Remi

TWLOHA is one long meeting so you know. It goes on forever with breaks for life in the middle.
Then I remembered to bring those photos that I took during the dance party. They will never see the light of day.
Patrick thrusts a lot.
And we seem to scare freshman away WAY too easily.

Ali G was having a bad day so we tried to make her feel better by talking about Peeniss (Peeta&Katniss)

Business time?
Route: Deg Circle-->Burt-->Morrison-->Cass-->Gallagher-->Deg Circle (St John's/Deg Basement)
Date: April 21st still sounds good
Do we want to scavenger hunt stuff to make the walk interesting. Like have a passport and tables along the route that would have "activities" such as writing love on our arms, throwing/burning away our stress, and other cool things at other stations.
Name: The Search for Strength: TWLOHA Annual Suicide Prevention Walk
Station Ideas: Write stress, firebowl, write love on arm, Fears v Dreams, six word stories, remembrance station, significant words/motto (on a canvas)

Jordan wants it to be a race. She's just so competitive!

What do we need? Tables, paper&printing (passports, 6 words story, stress), FvD whiteboard, camera, firebowl and fire making stuff, butcher paper, markers, mic for opening closing ceremony, stamps/stickers

Teams of 4-$16/team
Prizes: for fastest team, and finished passport enters into a raffle.
ticket=passport
deadline=April 14th
posters
Table on mall April 10th-13th

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Remi designing passports
Jordan and I are on the hype team.
Jordan: stickers& colored computer paper, and talking to Dino, Deglman basement stuff
Patrick: SAO, butcher paper and a mic
Karissa: camera, firebowl, reserve room and a table on the mall  (10,12,13th  Noon-2; 11th 11-3)
Remi: passports
Elizabeth: posters by monday
Laura: registration online-surveymonkey (finish by saturday)

Apparently I'm a bad historian because I don't take pictures.
Patrick hates his birthday. But just wait, there will be a surprise birthday party for Patrick some year, the year will be randomly chosen by Karissa.
Angela was ready for bed so she couldn't Skype us.
"So what you're pretty. I can walk!" ~Karissa

Then we talked about the TWLOHA movie. Jamie needs to tweet Jordan back. RUDE.

High and Lows really quickly. Beastin' it!

In which we Hung Out and did not 'Hang Out' 2/23/12

In attendance::: Jordan (who “ran” the meeting), Laura, Ali G, Elizabeth, Katie
It’s Self-injury awareness day:
Awareness days call for research on what they are raising awareness for and they also let kids know that they are not alone.

Then Liz and Ali G took a nap.

Red Flag event:::
We have our spot reserved for March 22nd and we will soon find out if we will be able to have a table right there.
-        The posters though: we need a PEAC logo for the posters, but they are coming along nicely.
-But from what I've seen of them Laura did a fantastic job.
-we need to be thinking of materials (for flags) and costs of such materials.
Highs and Lows of this week.
It was quite a relaxed meeting, but again, we missed those who weren't there.

??? I feel like everyone was really burnt out by the time TWLOHA came around, but I'm glad that this event is coming along. =)

Peace,
Katie Watson

Gluing and shit: IT’S CATHARTIC!!!

Gluing and shit: IT’S CATHARTIC!
: RUDE!
: VULNERABILITY AND SENSITIVITY (DON’T YELL AT FRESHMEN)
: A ton of laughter and tears that stemmed from laughter

In Attendance: Patrick, Liz, Ali, Remi, Laura, Karissa, Jared, Claire

First Pat taught us how to Dougie.
Then we learned the Cat Daddy.
We made sure that everyone has seen the Cry Me A River video.

WE MISSED OUR MISSING MEMBERS!!!!!!

Discussed how awesome we are for an ice breaker.

(“the newest way to work your abs”) ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9iOxL4C0u8 )
And, boy, did we work our abs. We laughed until we cried.
And we had to throw in a wolf howl (“it’s normal”)
…. And a “rude” or two, or 5… or 9.

Discussed Ted Talks
We watched a specific one::: Brene Brown TEDxHouston Jun 2010 (posted Dec 2010)
Vulnerability.
“Courage- to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart”
WHAT. a great video.
Discussion ensued, good discussion.
If you have time, go for it. It’s 20 minutes, but the video was completely fantastic.

Red Flag Event discussion::: “Oh yeah, it’s happening”
in the snow? The colors would be more contrasting (pros and cons it out, guys.)
Put PEAC on the posters (since we will likely be working with them) so we don’t have to put TWLOHA
Freshmen taking responsibility. BOOM.
Working with PEAC members on this lovely event.
Table & arrows (footprints or stars in chalk) on the mall leading to the Deglman hill (BOOM.)
We need the man-power (tabling and actually putting in the flags.) (from both PEAC and TWLOHA)
Sharpies (to write a name on a flag to dedicate the flag to someone)

TWLOHA Day…
Possibly Henna??? It’s a thought. We should look into this, it might be more interesting.

Talking at PEAC for depression?
We kind of decided against a music event
It would be nice if we could do a music event in the Fall and a suicide prevention walk in Spring annually

We threw this idea around::: Releasing  anxiety event (burning or throwing in water or balloons)
-tissue paper dissolving in water
-Taking ideas from youtube::: use wish paper
-working on getting it approved
-Look into what that is…….
-turn them into origami stars?
-OR Wildflowers in solo cups
-OR Paper flowers

We can’t bounce people from meetings… for future reference.

Our big event might be a Suicide prevention Walk
What goes into that? A date? Would we need permission to walk on the mall? No people walk on the mall all the time.
-We want beads and we need Jordan in on this too, because she’s the master t-shirt maker
The walk will be on a weekend the problem is the WHEN.
We’re planning currently for the 31st of March***(Pat is unsure)

Next week is dance party (16-2-12)
Red Mango can be the week after (23-2-12)
the week after that Jared will be teaching us about Abnormal Psych (2-3-12)

Highs and Lows
For future reference Jared=Charming
Wish Patrick luck on College Possible!
Just remember that you have to trust Karissa

Also, there is now going to be a tumblr about all our crazy quotes. Check the link to see that!

In Which Patrick Wore His Gay Boots

In attendance: Patrick, Katie, Laura, Jordan, Remi, Liz, Carolyn

First off it was decided that this was a Patrick Appreciation Day.

Discussion about club shirts/slogans (Informal Discussion):::
“Don’t let your head be a hater”
“Haters gonna hate.”

Discussed how much work has been done on our lovely Red Flag event (ps. There is still plenty of work to be done.)

Moved on from actual topics to Gossip, because that’s what we do.

Looked up songs and Dirty Harry quotes… “Do ya feel lucky, punk?”

“OMG! There’s a bug bite on my butt!” Thank you for sharing.
“Who the F cares about the Oxford comma?” Apparently a lot of people in the group?
We need to raise awareness for the ‘irony mark.’

Get it, Liz, get it!
Highs and Lows <3

Patrick is Brilliant.
