Heavy Week: Stigma 4 Oct 2012

Attendance: Laura, Danny, Jordan, Remi, Mekenzie, Carolyn, Katie, Katherine

Ice breaker: we tossed a ball with questions on it, and you had to answer the question that landed under your thumb.
Our new event coordinator is Carolyn! (yay!) This is with our upcoming event: Lyrics and Conversation. We are having art forms, and people sharing their stories in between. We need to start Advertising for the event. Email us your ideas. Carolyn came up with a name: "Sing. Speak. Share."
We also discussed enemies of unity:
-Handing up and handing down: Gossip that is negative should be handed up to execs, gossip that is positives should be handed down.
-Lack of shared purpose: When we lose sight of the vision and mission of the group, we are not going to get anywhere.
-unresolved disagreement: If there is a disagreement, we need to act quickly and kindly with maturity and love.
This is a heavy topic week. We watched a video about Royce White, a pro basketball palyer who has OCD and generalized anxiety disorder, and discussed stigmas related to the issues our group deals with. TWLOHA Minutes 9/28/12

Our meeting was led by our fabulous ghost president, Elizabeth (but she is a friendly ghost). Carolyn, Katherine, Katie, Remi, Elizabeth, and Danny were there.

Our icebreaker was "If you had to give up a sense, what would you give up?"

We discussed TWLOHA Day (Nov 13) and started planning and getting ready for it.

We also want to have a movie night (TBD). We spoke about which movies we watch when we are in a bad mood, which movies we watch when we are in a good mood, and which movies deal with issues that we discuss in our weekly meetings.

We finished off with support and love!
